I am a genuinely curious person. This is what drives me. Telling stories is my passion.

As a recent graduate of the journalism degree program at Mount Royal University, I have crafted my skills through hands-on training in the power of storytelling through various media. I love taking on projects that tackle big issues in a unique way.

I have worked as a freelance reporter for FFWD Weekly,  reporter and online news editor for the Calgary Journal  and in marketing communications and social media. These roles have given me excellent leadership and project management skills as well as the ability to work efficiently and on a deadline.

My proudest work has been in my investigative reporting. I published the cover story for FFWD Weekly's pride edition, which dove into the experiences of transgender prisoners in North America. This story also sprouted the idea for a mini-documentary I co-produced for CTV2 about what life is like for those living outside the gender binary. I also led a team of 30 reporters on an investigative project on secondary suites in Calgary, for which I created a website to house our extensive research.

I believe success comes when you work incredibly hard for it. I never want to stop learning and I am always open to new opportunities that allow me to grow and to tell stories that engage an audience.

As I move forward in my career, I have a particular interest in feature, lifestyle and public affairs writing in online media, and social media strategies. I hope to travel throughout my career to continue to learn more and what I don't yet know.
